There were some tense moments this morning for security guards when two prisioners escaped from custody.
The two men were being transported from Tennessee to the Red Onion facility when they stopped in Smythe County for the morning meal, that's when the two made their escape.
Police captured one of the prisioners shortly after the incident.
However the second one, identified as 31 year old Reginald Yelverton, stole a car near the Triangle Exxon.
He wrecked while turning off exit 32 from Interstate 81, and from there ran on foot.
Two police helicopters and dogs were sent on the hunt---Yelverton was recaptured 8 hours later.

Right now all prisioners are in custody at the Red Onion facility.

The park's proximity to the Maury River offers opportunities for fishing and canoeing.
And a variety of sports are played on the park's ballfields.
