Mike Weddington is a world champion wake boarder.
He gets paid to compete and perform demonstrations.
But on this day he's coaching members of the Smith Mountain Lake Water Ski Club.
For David Prillaman it was a chance to perfect a trick he's been working on for months but never been able to hit.

The water ski club sponsors at least three clinics like this one each year.
More than 60 members of all levels of wake boarders as well as water, slalom skiers make up the club.
In fact two water skiers are getting to compete in nationals.

Weddington has been a pro for six years but he says as time goes by he'll leave the competing behind and focus more on teaching and promoting the sport.
But for now this is his job.

Noodling is an acquired sport with a little kick and a lot of bite!

It's the sport of catching snapping turtles.. before they catch you!
And this father and son duo immerses themselves in this uncommon pastime.
You have to be careful to get them by their tails, because if you don't the turtles will.
Make no mistake about it, these guys bite.
But there is a reward to hunting these snappy creatures, they produce half of their body weight in white meat.
