Jimmie Tingler has been watching the blaze burn on the hill above his home since Saturday.

She was shot in the head, locked in her car trunk, and left for dead.
Now, as the 23-year old Henry County woman recovers in a North Carolina hospital, authorities are searching for her attacker.

Shannon Wright told deputies she drove to the parking lot at Riverside Plaza in Bassett to meet someone late Saturday night.
Instead, she says a man kidnapped her at gunpoint and drove her to a secluded area off Route 648 near Axton.
That's where Wright says the man made her get in the trunk and shot her in the head.
She was found by a passing motorist who heard noises coming from the trunk.

A 66-year-old Pittsylvania County woman is safe after spending two nights lost in the woods.
Hazel Brown is listed in stable condition at Danville Regional Medical Center.
She disappeared late Saturday night after attending an outdoor festival.
She was found this morning after a helicopter search.
Deputies say she seemed confused and said she lost her way back to her car.

A blast from a sewer project rained rock on one motorist's windshield as he headed toward downtown Roanoke Friday night.

The rock punctured Gene West's hood and shattered the windshield as he drove north in his new truck on the Roy Webber Expressway.
He says a shower of gravel surrounded him. The glass scraped his eye.
City engineers say they were blasting rock in the Roanoke River for the sewer project along Wiley Drive, and the explosion sent debris flying onto the highway.
They have halted the project until they can figure out what went wrong.

Another traffic backup on Interstate 81 this afternoon, this time in Montgomery County.
A van and a car collided in the north-bound lanes, between the two Christiansburg exits.
No one was seriously hurt, but the passing lane was blocked as workers removed the vehicles.
That caused a four-mile traffic backup behind the accident.
Police say traffic is back to normal now.

Blood supplies have been dropping for a couple of weeks. Officials say the hot weather has prevented some businesses from holding blood drives, and summer vacations have reduced the number of regular donors.

Kerney, who, lead the ACC in sacks last season at Virginia, is also learning just how much of an unknown quantity he is at the next level. ((NAT SOUND:))
