((It was a chilling account of a murder the government says was motivated by hate.
Alejandro Mayorkas, US Attorney: "He stated that the postal worker was a good "target of opportunity" to kill because he was "non-white". Prosecutors revealed disturbing details of how a mail carrier was shot dead -- and children attacked at a Los Angeles Jewish Community center. The numbing statements came as state authorities filed more charges against alleged white supremacist Buford Furrow.
Mayorkas: "Furrow further states that he exited his car and approached the mail carrier...he was carrying a loaded Glock model 26 in his back pocket...he asked if the mail carrier could mail a letter for him. When the mail carrier agreed, Furrow pulled out the Glock and shot the carrier two times."
Furrow, shackled and handcuffed, was led into a courtroom Thursday morning - arraigned on federal charges. A judge refused bail. The 37-year-old man's accused of gunning down the postal worker and opening fire in the Jewish Center Tuesday morning. There, he hit five people, including three small children. The news of Furrow's arrest came as a relief to many in this community. But for the family of the slain postal worker, the motive behind the killing is hard to understand.
