According to the Internet, Buford Furrow, the man accused of shooting children at a Jewish community center in Los Angeles had some family ties to Southwest Virginia.

In a message on a Bluegrass music web site, Buford Furrow, Senior- -the suspect's father- -mentions growing up in Roanoke.
Furrow's brother-in-law, Bill Wells- -also mentioned in the message- -confirms the elder Furrow grew up in Virginia.
Wells says he hasn't seen his NEPHEW- -the Los Angeles suspect- -in 20 years.
We were not able to find anyone in the area who knew Buford, Junior, or his father.

Activities at the synagogue's day care center went on as scheduled with all the children attending. But some in the Jewish community worry about a copycat incident happening here.

Henry County authorities have released a sketch of the man who kidnapped and shot a woman last weekend.

Shannon Wright survived the attack and provide authorities with the description of her attacker.
He's described as 6-feet tall, with blonde hair.

Wright told deputies she was kidnapped from a parking lot... then robbed, forced into the trunk of her car, and shot in the head.

Salem High school is mourning the death of one of its teachers.
Yesterday 36 year old Steven Britt Rossie was at his home yesterday in Troutville holding a metal ladder for a contractor when the ladder touched a wire.
He was eltrocuted and pronounced dead at the hospital.
The contractor suffered burns to his feet.
Rossie was a science teacher at Salem High School for four years and was the former planetarium director at the science museum.

A former psychiatric patient is suing a Lynchburg hospital after his coworkers reportedly got a hold of his confidential medical files.

Darnell Smith is now suing Centra Health and two of his former colleagues at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Smith claims the two workers gained access to his private files at Centra Health and told other employees about his psychiatric treatments.
He says the resulting harassment forced him to quit his job and attempt suicide.
Smith is seeking more than 300- thousand dollars in damages.
