While Florida is doing little to prepare for Hurricane Dennis residents of the Carolinas are not taking any chances and are getting ready.
The National Weather Service says if Dennis doesn't hit Florida over the weekend, it could come ashore somewhere between Wilmington, North Carolina and Charleston, South Carolina by Monday morning.
Ellen Qualls has been from South Carolina's grand strand to North Carolina's southern beaches today and she has this report.

This was the decision today by the board after reviewing Bunting's discretionary expenses ---which are currently u
nder investigation by the Rockbridge Commonwealth's Attorney.

State Officials are currently reviewing the superintendent's use of his 100-thousand dollar discretionary account-- part of which was used for a retirement party and to buy gifts.
Even though this account is not funded by tax dollars it is still subject to state guidelines.
The VMI Foundation Incorporated provides the majority of the funding for the discretionary account-- and is backing Bunting.

State Democrats came to Roanoke this weekend to decide whether to hold a presidential primary in Feburary.
Virginia Republicans have already decided to hold a primary February 29th of next year--but a technicality in state law and Democratic National Committe guidelines will prevent state Democrats from holding a primary that soon.
The Democratic Committee plans to study the possibility of holding a presidential primary in the year 2004.

Rusty Wallace took the lead from the outside pole position with Tony Stewart on his bumper with 481 laps to go.
Points leader Dale Jarrett gets lose and gets hit in the rear bringing out the caution he had to take the car to the garage area for repairs and dropped off the pace.
Stewart would come back and take the lead with over 300 laps to go in the 500 laps race.
Stewart led over 200 laps before he gave up the lead to Jeff Gordon after pit stops on the fifth caution of the night.
Terry Labonte was leading the race but he would spin out at the top of the track with less than 10 laps to go he comes back and catches Dale Earnhardt but Earnhardt taps him he spins again and Earnhardt takes the checkered flag for the win.
