In case you missed it, today is Yellow Submarine day in Liverpool... the day the sub and the film of the same name get relaunched.
The new visually enhanced, musically remastered version of the film that the Beatles actually had very little to do with is being premiered this evening. The Beatles voices were in fact performed by other actors.
But the films producers think there's a market today for the psychedelic colors and bell bottoms.

I really think this film has tremendous potential. There's a whole new generation of people who have never seen, of young children, you know Beatles fans.
(All You Need Is Love/Clips)
Its been just over three decades since the Beatles liberated Pepperland from the music- hating Blue Meanies with their irresistible combination of music and love.
But that, plus a dollop of Liverpudlian wit worked then and might work again.
(Remixing)
It fell to recording technician Peter Cobbin to remix the films music -- kind of like getting to re-edit the bible of pop.

I dont think there would be a recording engineer in the world who wouldn't actually kill to actually be doing what I have done so from that point of view its been a privilege.
Yellow Submarine goes on general release in a couple of weeks but its primarily directed at the home DVD market.
