Norfolk- Southern crews climbed under fully- loaded coal cars that were listing at an angle- -to attach cables.
One by one the last of the derailed cars was dragged off the bridge over Route 419.
V-DOT shut down a quarter mile section of the four-lane highway- -between Starkey Road and Chaparral Drive... while the work was done.
The normally busy business area was deserted... though enterprising motorists managed to find a way around the road blocks to get to their favorite restaurant.

State law now requires teenagers between 14 and 16 to take a boating safety course before jumping on a personal water craft.
This year over one thousand people at Smith Mountain Lake have taken the course voluntarily.
Game wardens say the drop in the accident rate is due not only to education but also stricter enforcement.

Doctors at the Ohio State University Medical Center say a 36-year-old traffic controller has received a gene therapy injection for M-D to test it's safety. Doctors injected a muscle in the patient's foot with a gene containing a special protein missing in people with M-D. The study is funded by the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

But the person at the top is not who you would expect to be there. Kenny Irwin the wheel man for the Havoline Thunderbird was the eventual pole winner as he tamed the Lady in Black with a circuit at 167 point 215 miles an hour.
The man who is first in the points' race, Dale Jarrett, Irwin's teammate at Yates Racing, was last today in qualifying after spinning out with a flat tire.
The best Jarrett can now start is 26th.

So, Feather installed a pipe system that recycles water in the baptistry.
The pipe recycles all 900- gallons of water in the tank during Sunday services.
