Firefighters say they responded to a call on Eastland Road around 10:15.
The owner, Robert Hall, was next door when he saw smoke billowing out of his house.
He says by the time he ran home, it was fully engulfed.
Another person was in the house when the flames broke out, but she made it out safely.
At this time, there is no word from the Fire Inspector on how the fire started.

An apparent tornado touched down this afternoon in Coastal Virginia.
The storm hit an assisted living center and several apartment buildings in Hampton.
Police say between 20 and 30 people suffered minor injuries.
There were ``no'' fatalities.

Carolina would take the lead late in the second quarter. Dale Ellis rolls out to pass he over throws his receiver right into the hands of Carolina's Antoine Black he takes the rock 89 yards into the end zone and the Tar Heels took a 9 to 3 lead at the half.
U-V-A took the lead on a Thomas Jones 1 yard run then Ellis puts it into the air and hits Kevin Coffey on the 32 yard touchdown pass play and the Cavaliers led 17 to 9.
But The Tar Heels rallied behind Ronald Curry he scrambles and hits Anthony Saunders on the T-D pass the two point conversion tied it at 17.
