Rising waters caused problems in Roanoke when some diesel tanks were washed downstream in the Roanoke River.

It happened near the Hanna's Court Trailer Park .
The tanks were part of a construction project, where workers have been pumping water out of a section of the river.
High water over-ran a temporary dam, flooding the pumps and washing away the tanks.
Officials say the tanks were sealed, and did NOT leak.
The contractor says he didn't expect the water to rise so quickly.

But as the rain continues to fall, some drought stricken areas, like southwest Virginia, are finding a silver lining.
At last report, Carvins Cove, Roanoke's shrinking water supply, has actually risen 2.1 feet since Saturday Morning. And it could rise another foot today. The cove is currently 27.1 feet below the spillway.
Joy Sutton has reaction from city residents who have been living with mandatory water restrictions.

(( A juvenile and domestic relations judge in Salem dismissed the charges against Bedrosian, saying while he may have technically been guilty of assault, this was a case that should have been settled out of court.
A viewer in Rocky Mount [Carole Muncy] wrote:
I am amazed that the assault of a child carries less penalty than the assault of an adult person. Mr. Bedrosian had no right to spank that child. If the child was causing a problem, he could have picked up his infant and walked away, addressing his problem to security and letting him handle it.
The judge shows even poorer judgment than Mr. Bedrosian. I'm not surprised the mother left with no comment - I would have been speechless with disgust myself. Perhaps Mr. Bedrosian can provide the public with a list of people that, in his esteemed view, need disciplining, then the public can decide if they want to vote for him.
