Opera Roanoke will hold a unique fundraiser on Thursday evening called Lucia's (LOU-CHEE-UH) Just Desserts.
Two local lawyers will take the tragic opera Lucia di Lammermoor, set in the 16-hundreds, into the modern day court room.
They'll listen to musical testimony from members of the cast to determine who deserves the estate left after Lucia allegedly murders her husband.
The audience will sit as the jury and will be rewarded for their duty with a dessert reception after the performance.

The following year, it moved to television.
Today, the show is hosted by Funt's son on C-B-S.

51 women from across the country arrived in Atlantic City yesterday, to begin two weeks of preparation.
Among them, Lynchburg's Crystal Lewis, who will try to become the second consecutive Miss Virginia to walk away with the crown.
The Pagaent will be held September 18th.

Federal disaster relief is on its way to Eastern Virginia.
President Clinton made a disaster declaration in the Hampton area yesterday.
That's where about a thousand people were left homeless after a tornado ripped roofs off houses and apartment buildings Saturday.
The same area is experiencing flash-flooding this morning.

While Dennis caused problems in Eastern Virginia-- he helped ease water shortages in our part of the commonwealth.
Carvins Cove rose about two and a half feet.
The latest measurement put the cove level at 26-point-6 feet below the spillway.
It's been over a month since the level was that high.

And while the rainy weather washed out some holiday plans, it made for fewer cars and fewer accidents on the roads.
State police say wet roads forced people to slow down and that kept the number of accidents down too.
