Tonight new plans were brought to the table.
Board members clashed when it came to what needed to be scaled back: some said school capacity, others said the auditorium, or stadium.
After Chairman Bob Johnson heard proposed budgets ranging from 28 to 33 million dollars - he decided on a compromise figure: 30 million dollars.
He asked architects to scale down plans to fit the budget, while providing the new school with all the amenities they asked for.
Board member Harry Nickens isn't sure its the best bargain - but he says valuable time is being lost.

((Tommy Bowden's changing of Clemson's offense from a running to a passing attack could not have come at a worse time for the Cavaliers. With two veteran defensive backs injured, true freshman like former Jefferson Forest star Jerton Evans was forced to make senior like plays. ((GEORGE WELSH/UVA HEAD COACH:)) X-rays on defensive End Travis Griffith's ankle concluded that he has a sprained ankle and he is doubtful for Saturday's game. Defensive backs Dwayne Stukes and Antwan Harris are still questionable as of Tuesday morning, forcing Evans and the other freshman DB's to prepare as if they will start. ((SHERNARD NEWBY/UVA FRESHMAN SAFETY:)) ((STEVE MASON:)) ((SHANNON TAYLOR:)) The Cavaliers beat Wake Forest 38-17 last year and are looking for their 16th straight win over the Demon Deacons Saturday.
