Henry County officials say 18-year old Phillip Chad McMahon of Martinsville and a 15-year-old Pittsylvania County boy are charged with robbing a man at gunpoint and attempting to rob another.

A campbell County man has been cleared of charges in connection with the shooting death of his wife.

A grand jury yesterday declined to indict 27-year old Douglas Pendleton on a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
Pendleton had told police he was showing his wife a gun when the weapon accidentally fired.

Prosecutor Neil Vener (VEN-er) says unless new evidence comes to light, the case is closed.
