The day started out with flash flood warnings for small streams in Danville and Pittsylvania County.
Flash floods that, so far, haven't materialized.
But Danville emergency officials echoed what officials all over Southside were saying. They'll be on standby for whatever Floyd brings.

The poll says ... statewide ... 67-percent of voters approve of spending two billion dollars over the next six years.

Support is weakest in Northern Virginia ... where 59 percent approves of the plan.
In the Roanoke region ... the approval rate is 62-percent.
In Southside, 71-percent.
Northern Virginia is the only region willing to pay higher taxes for better roads.
Fifty-two percent of voters there favor a one-percent hike in the sales tax.
64-percent of Roanoke voters OPPOSE a tax hike.
So does 62-percent of Southside voters.
