A national rescue group set out today to rescue Hurricane Floyd's forgotten victims... pets.
The Emergency Animal Rescue Service or EARS combed the waters in Pitt County, North Carolina looking for dogs and cats caught in the flooding.
Many of the animals were abandoned by their owners, and have gone several days without food and fresh water.
Once the animals are rescued, EARS makes sure the animals receive proper care.

Roanoke Stars girls team spent some time in Roanoke city council chambers with council woman Linda Wyatt.
The girls were recognized for their outstanding play earlier this summer in Gothenburg, Sweden and Brondby, Denmark.
The girls finished 9-1-1 on their 17 day trip and won the Brondby Cup championship.
Girls from Roanoke City, Franklin County, Roanoke County and Salem makeup the 16 girl team that is coached by Lang Wedemeyer.
