A candidate for State Senate is defending his reputation tonight.
State Senate Candidate Jim Jones was convicted of assault six years ago.
He denounced those allegations-

Jones appeared at a Christiansburg news conference with family, friends, and employees of his business, Lifeline Ambulance Service.
The allegations date back to March, 1993... the day a storm dumped three feet of snow in western Virginia.
At the ambulance office, and a Blacksburg townhouse, a former employee claimed that Jones made inappropriate comments and unwanted sexual advances.
He was convicted of misdemeanor assault and fined 250 dollars... but Jones says it never happened.

Jeff Gordon and crew Chief Ray Evernham might race together for the last time this weekend at Dover. The Charlotte Observer is reporting that Evernham might step down from his crew chief position at the conclusion of this weekend's race.

Sources say he wants to spend more time with his wife Mary and son Ray and cannot do that in a job that takes 80 to 100 hours a week. He was previously reported to be stepping down at the end of the season and taking management job with Hendrick Motorsports. Reports now say, he will be leaving the operation all together.
