A former Lynchburg probation officer and Baptist minister has been charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor.
Daryl Brown waived his preliminary hearing in Bedford County. Brown is accused of taking indecent liberties with one of his clients, a girl under the age of 18.
The charge dates back to February 24th.
Yesterday a judge certified the charge to a grand jury scheduled to meet next week.
Brown resigned as pastor of Bold Branch Baptist Church after the charges were filed.

A small plane narrowly missed a crowd of people when it crashed into downtown Nashville this morning.

Both southbound lanes on Interstate 81 in Augusta County are have reopened tonight. A 35 foot deep sinkhole forced the lanes to be closed for nearly 36 hours while the area was excavated. The sinkhole started as a six inch depression Thursday afternoon and eventually grew 70 feet across. This was the fourth sinkhole on interstate 81 this month.

In September, Habitat will build it's 100-thousandth house.

It's all part of an effort to detect the disease early, especially in children.

At least six people were killed when a blinding dust storm hit a highway in Oregon.

It happened near Hermiston this morning. High winds kicked up dust on Interstate 84, and motorists continued driving into the cloud.
At least 50 vehicles collided with each other.
23 people had to be hospitalized.
The highway was closed all day.

Hanging Rock was used as a fire observatory tower until 19-72.
The tower ITSELF fell victim to arson in 19-96, but was re-built a year later.

And the Cavaliers came out throwing. On Virginia's first possession Dan Ellis hits Anthony Southern who scores on the 15 yard pass play to make it 7 to nothing Cavaliers.
After a Cougar turnover, Ellis puts it up again. This time he hits Kevin Coffey he takes it to the house from 25 yards out and the Cavaliers led 14 to nothing with 6 minutes left in the first.
Virginia's Thomas Jones would make it a 21 to nothing lead when he scores on the 23 yard T-D run to end the first quarter.

They were pounding the pavement early this morning in Lynchburg for the 26th running of the Virignia Ten Miler.

More than a thousand runners took part in this year's event, which also included a four- mile race for the first time.
From the beginning the race belonged to 1997 Ten Miler champ Peter Githuka (gi-THOO-ka) of Kenya.
Githuka established a BIG early lead and finished in 47 minutes 11 seconds.. a minute- 45 ahead of the second place finisher, two- time New York City marathon champion John Kagwe (KAG-way).
Margaret Kagiri (ka-GEER-ee), also of Kenya, took the women's division with a time of 50 minutes, 42 seconds.
