((It's every parent, student, and teacher's worst nightmare: a school shooting like the one at Columbine High School in Colorado. It left people across the country trying to figure out why young people commit acts of violence in school.

Virginia State Trooper Tom Foster tried to shed some light on that matter to parents at Cave Spring High School.

Trooper Foster says there are specific warning signs in young people who commit acts of violence, like prior violence, substance abuse, and being picked on by peers--these were all present in the young boys who committed school shootings last year. Parents say the key to finding warning signs is paying attention to your children.

Now it is illegal to develop or rezone the land no matter who owns it in the future.
Since the land borders Carvins Cove, environmentalists say this will protect the water quality.
