Under the leadership of Fuller the congregation at First Baptist has grown from 2-thousand to about 6-thousand.
And since his arrival in 1961 -- the church building has also expanded.
An educational building was the first expansion, then in 1979 a family life center was added, and in 1992 a new sanctuary.
For churches members who remember his first sermon to those who have known him only a few years --- they all say he h

as made a difference in their lives and they will miss him dearly.

They were afraid that the different chemicals on the truck could mix and cause a health problem.
But they were able to get the spill cleaned up by two this morning.
No homes were evacuated.

Halifax County tobacco farmers are facing yet another obstacle in harvesting this year's crops.
This time frost threatens to diminish their crop yield.
Earlier this year, dry weather threatened the crops.
Now, farmers say the recent rains have cost them two to three days of harvest time.
That has made getting all the crop they have harvested before the first frost a race against time.
Farmers say the first frost generally hits the Halifax County area by mid-October.
Many got a scare last week when a cold front dropped the temperature to 34 degrees.
