((for everything that happened to the Cavaliers this season, add one more bit of adversity to the mix, bad luck. A busted Blue Devils play symbolized just how tough the year has been for the three and three Wahoos who have lost two regular season games in a row for the first time in six years. Four of Virginia's last five opponents, N.C. State, Florida State, Georgia Tech and Maryland are a combined 18 and 4 meaning UVa's reaching seven wins for a bowl bid translates into very little margin of era for the Cavaliers. Last October, the Cavaliers beat N.C. State and lost Anthony Poindexter for the season. The Wahoos hope to have flash backs especially of Pack quarterback Jamie Barnette, who was held scoreless in that game. Steve Mason, News 7 sports.))

The six game officiating crew that had the N.C. State - Clemson game this past Saturday has been suspended for one game by the league for a poor performance last week. Both schools filed complaints after 26 penalties for 244 yards were whistled. The crew also marked off penalty yards incorrectly and let the 25 second clock expire with calling a penalty. ((bye bye))

After a day of rain on Sunday washed out the UAW GM 500 at Charlotte, Jeff Gordon and the Rainbow Warriors started 22nd today and eventually won thanks to two subtle events. First Gordon came in on the final pit stop trailing Mike Skinner. He managed to force Skinner to brake to get in his pits and eventually beat him out. Then Chad Little and Bill Elliott held up race leader Bobby Labonte long enough to let Gordon catch him and pass him with seven laps to go. Gordon gets his 7th win of the year. The 49 of his career.
