The Bedford County Board of Supervisors is expected to decide this week whether to purchase a contaminated dairy farm.
Tests indicate that water at the 150 acre Rocky Knoll Dairy Farm was contaminated by a near by 40-acre landfill that closed in 1993.
The county condemned eight-and-a-quarter acres of the farm to drill test wells last spring.
Several cancer-causing agents were found.
The farm's owners Danny and Jimmy Adams have filed two lawsuits stemming from the contamination. Bedford supervisors previously turned down the owners' offer to sell the land for one-point-eight (M) million dollars.
A county-hired appraiser said it's worth 650-thousand dollars.
