It's too late to have Spangler's name removed from the ballot-- so Giles residents could still vote for him which is why Spangler says he'll go public with his decision soon.
Spangler says the past two years have been difficult-- citing publicity surrounding his job as prosecutor.
Earlier this year-- a three judge panel reprimanded Spangler for mishandling several criminal cases while prosecutor.

Only two of the more than 27-thousand birds survived the deadly dinner. One is a red winged black bird. It apparently didn't eat a lethal dose. The other is a young red tail hawk. It threw up the carcass of a poisoned bird. Both should recover. But with such a mass killing...experts fear the number of wildlife that will eventually be affected...will only grow.

Right now...it's still unclear if the poisoning was an accident or intentional. But since...almost all of the affected birds are protected by state and federal law. Investigators say it is likely someone will face charges in this case. JW, for CBS News, St. Louis))

Warrick was suspended October seventh following his arrest on a felony grand theft charge.
