Salerno did not say why negotiations with Roanoke broke down.
The two parties had been at odds over his salary.

The Patrick Henry Patriots opened their homecoming celebration this evening by inducting thier latest class of sports hall of fame members. Golfing greats Miller Baber and Vickie Linkous enter the hall this year along with Jodi Yingling and two members off of the 1988 state champion basketball team.

He earned his first pole of the season with a new track qualifying record lap of 157 point 383 miles an hour. Last week's winner, Dale Earnhardt had another horrible qualifying effort as he ended up 37th. However, the worst time of the day was posted by Grit's Stacy Compton - making his debut in the WCW Melling Ford. Here's the top 25.

After 15 years Bibby is moving to the Sounds to be come the pitching coach for the Pittsburgh top minor league affiliate.
