A truck carrying apples overturned near Mile Marker 162 in Botetourt County-- that's near the Buchanan exit.
Both northbound lanes are closed while the mess is cleaned up.
Traffic is being re-routed onto Route 11 at Exit 156.
Some diesel fuel was leaking from the rig and crews are working to contain the spill.
No one was hurt.

Congressman Bob Goodlatte is leading efforts in Congress to restrict on-line gambling on the Internet. Rick Boucher is one of the main co-sponsors of Goodlatte's new bill.

There are many gambling sites on the "Net", frequently from locations outside U-S borders.
Goodlatte and other sponsors say their bill gives law enforcement the tools it needs to crack down on illegal Internet gambling operations.
Goodlatte has sponsored a similar bill before, but it never came up for a vote.

They also say all the little monsters should come out between five-thirty and eight-thirty for safety. They made the change under pressure from teachers and religious leaders.

A Roanoke county community is concerned about a new church moving into their neighborhood.

Plans call for a 40-thousand square-foot campus ... including a gym, jogging track and T-V studio in the Clearbrook neighborhood.

Across the country people are being murdered or injured by people they thought would protect them.
One local organization is joining forces with the community to raise awareness about Domestic violence.

( ( Dozens of families gathered at a candlelight service to remember those murdered at the hands of a loved one and to
show support for those who have survived family violence.
Brenda Coles is a survivor of domestic violence and she came out to tell other victims they too can get out.

But some victims aren't as lucky as Coles. Just a few months ago in Lynchburg a domestic dispute turned deadly-- when a man shot a killed his ex-girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself.
In 1998 alone 110 people were killed in Virginia as a result of domestic violence.
TAP Women's Resource Center held the candlelight service in hopes of making a difference -- and to reach out to the youth who are often victims themselves.

A settlement has been reached in the legal fight over the life story of boxing champ Muhammed Ali.

One round was fought in Roanoke Federal Court last June.
Attorneys for Columbia pictures defended their right to make a film about Ali, starring actor Will Smith.
Two of his former associates- -from the days when Ali lived in Nelson County, Virginia- had filed a 3 million dollar lawsuit, claiming they SHARE the rights to Ali's story.
In a joint statement, Ali and the men say the suit was settled on confidential terms.
Filming is set to begin next year.

A teacher's aide at Radford High School is charged with sodomizing a 14 year old boy.
43-year old Cotton Lee Easter of (Cain-uh) Cana was arrested yesterday afternoon.
Police would NOT say if the boy was one of Easter's students.
Easter is a teacher's aide in special education at the high school and is also a football trainer.

The Reverend Jerry Falwell and gay activist minister Mel White will meet tomorrow in Lynchburg.
The meeting at Falwell's Thomas Road Baptist Church is to promote peace and tolerance among conservative Christians and gays.
But outside the meeting, anti-gay activist Fred Phelps said he plans to (quote) ``be in their faces.''
Also showing up will be gay rights activist Bob Kunst of the Oral Majority.
