Shepard's accused killer goes on trial tomorrow in Wyoming.
Aaron McKinney is charged with beating Shepard into a coma ... then tying the University of Wyoming freshman to a fence in a remote area.
McKinney could face the death penalty.
The other man involved ... Russell Henderson ... pleaded guilty in April and got two life sentences.
The murder led many to call for national hate-crime laws, punishing criminals who target gays.

Berry says he's innocent.
He says he stood and watched as the two other men -- John William King and Lawrence Russell Brewer tied Byrd to the back of Berry's truck ... then dragged Byrd to his death.
King and Brewer already have been tried, convicted and sentenced to death.

Twenty-four years in ... an Israeli jail is the sentence for Samuel Sheinbein.

Rick Mast was forced to the pits with some type of engine problems but he did return.
