A Roanoke County intersection is still blocked tonight - after a fuel tanker overturned on Alternate Route 220 where it intersects with Route 460.
The accident occurred this afternoon, but authorities say they aren't sure whether the mess will even be cleaned up by morning.

((As this tanker truck turned off of 460 west in Roanoke County onto Cloverdale Road the driver lost control and flipped the rig on it's top. As a result a gash in the side of the tank leaked over 2000 gallons of diesel fuel into the ground and down a storm drain. That led the fuel to Glade Creek--water that is used for livestock, not drinking water. Officials set up dams to catch the fuel.

Police say 58-year old Barbara Jean Hurston was pulling over to fix a flat when her vehicle suddenly accelerated and crashed through a porch and down a stairwell.
Rescue crews spent about twenty minutes freeing Hurston from her vehicle.
No one was injured... No one's been charged.

State police have released the names of 3 adults and 1 juvenile who reportedly threw rocks at cars on Interstate 581 last night.

Each is charged with 17 counts of throwing a missile at an occupied vehicle.
Police say the adults are from Roanoke: 21-year-old Irvin Divers; 20-year-old Travis Scott; and 18-year-old James C. Smith, Junior.
No information on the juvenile was released.
One suspect told authorities that he did it out of "peer pressure."

When they arrived-- flames and smoke were pouring from the building.
The blaze destroyed one unit and caused smoke and water damage to the surrounding apartments.

A Wythe County sheriff's deputy was fired over the weekend for trying to kill a deer that turned out to be a "decoy".
A Game Warden on Friday arrested 23-year old Todd Allen Davis of Hiwassee for allegedly using a spotlight in an attempt to kill a deer.
Sheriff Kermit Osborne fired Davis Saturday after learning about the charge.
He says Davis was a new hire-- who was still enrolled in the police academy.
