A Lynchburg woman escaped serious injury today when her car plowed into a house and down a stairway.

Police say 58- year-old Barbara Jean Hurston was pulling over to fix a flat when her vehicle suddenly accelerated and crashed through a porch and down a stairwell.
Rescue crews spent about twenty minutes freeing Hurston from her vehicle.
No charges have been filed.

Franklin County sheriff's deputies have rounded up several people suspected of selling drugs to high school students.

More than 20 people were charged with theft and drug trafficking.
Deputies say they had received complaints from lake residents as well as some in Rocky Mount.
They characterized the deals as "medium sized."

However, the Democrats realize this is the perfect time to gain the upper hand, and are giving Chrisley a run for her money with Dublin Mayor Benny Keister-- also with a massive last minute cash infustion, still coming up about 90-thousand dollars short of Chrisley.
That kind of money buys a lot of heat on TV.

The heroics of some good neighbors may have saved a Roanoke teenager .. and his home.

A 16- year- old boy was the only person home when the fire broke out at 261 Preston Avenue, around 8- 30 this morning.
Fire officials say two neighbors pulled the boy to safety through a basement window.
Meanwhile, a neighbor and a passer-by doused the home with a garden hose until firefighters arrived.
Fire officials say THAT probably saved the house...which still ended up with extensive smoke damage.
No word yet on the cause.
