It was broad daylight- when THE SHOOTING happened in the parking lot near Sears.
Roanoke police say it followed a confrontation between the victim and suspects.
Police say the victim was a Walmart employee -- and was alone at the time.
The General Manager for Valley View Mall says nothing like this has ever happened at the shopping center before -- and that this is isolated incident.
There is security at the mall -- but the manager she doesn't believe that would affected anything in this shooting.

But some shoppers say they are concerned even if this is the first and some changes should be made.
