The Glenvar Middle School project, that has been in the works for over a year now, may be taking a step forward.
Board of Supervisors member Spike Harrison made an announcement yesterday regarding the funding needed for the project.
While some school board members say this is good news -- others question if it is a political ploy by Harrison who is up for re-election on Tuesday.
Joy Sutton has more.

Spike Harrison and Harry Nickens -two members of the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors -- say it is time to move forward on the expansion of Glenvar Middle School.
That's why they say it is important to allocate the funding now -- because any further delay in action would jeopardize the projects future.
But not everyone agrees on the timing of this announcement.

Contractors for Georgia Pacific are using a twin-propeller helicopter to clear a 120-acre stand of ice- damaged trees in Botetourt County.
Crews on the ground cut the trees and the chopper flies them to a nearby staging area.
The operation is quick, efficient and more environmentally- friendly than conventional logging methods.
