Rescue crews have been searching this morning for a missing passenger plane off the coast of Massachusetts. The Coast Guard Air Station on Cape Cod confirms that a debris field has been located 45 miles southeast of Nantucket. That's within 15 miles of the last radar contact with missing EgyptAir Flight990
The flight originated in Los Angles.
The plane disappeared about 40 minutes after taking off from New York's JKF Airport.
The Boeing 767 was carrying 197 passengers when it dropped from radar scopes around two this morning
The Coast Guard says it has a plane and every available ship out searching for the aircraft.

Family members of the couple charged with Friday's shooting at Valleyview mall say they believe it was nothing short of self defense.
The couple's daughter Heather says her parents are good people --- and wouldn't just shoot someone for no reason, th

ey were protecting themselves.
She says for the past couple of months her parents were being stalked -- although it turned out not to be this man -- their fear played a part in the shooting. Joy Sutton has more on this story.

Both live in Florida, but are former Roanoke residents.
Police say they believe a confrontation between the victim and the suspects led to the shooting.

An accident on Interstate 81 claimed the life of a Princeton, West Virginia woman.
It happened shortly after 10 last night at the 139 mile marker near the Salem exit. Police say a tractor-trailer drifted into the car driven by 48 year-old Margaret Smith.
Her car then veered off the road and flipped several times.
Smith was pronounced dead on the scene.
There are no details on whether charges will be filed against the driver of the tractor-trailer.

Authorities say they found the man who allegedly shot and killed a mother and her 16 year old daughter late Friday night in Martinsville.
Police say the mother's boyfriend is to blame.

Authorities say 36-year-old Eyvonne Hairston was shot after an argument inside her home with 38-year-Michael Jerome Hairston.
Officials say Hairston also turned the gun on her 16-year-old daughter, who was shot three times.
Police say the other children, who were home at the time, escaped out a window. [mugshot]
Police arrested Michael Jerome Hairston around noon yesterday.
He's charged with first degree murder, malicious wounding and three other felonies.
Eyvonne and Michael share the same last name but are not related.

A Winchester police officer died yesterday after being shot while chasing someone on foot.
32 year old Sergeant Ricky Timbrook was shot in the head shortly before midnight and died at a hospital about a half hour later.
Police called in SWAT teams and evacuated nearby residents while they conducted a house to house search for the suspect.
After several hours authorities found 35 year old Edward Bell of Winchester hiding in the basement of a home.
He is being held without bond on a burglary charge.
