(( In the end, there were tears in the courtroom.. for the first time in eight months the families involved in one of the most bizarre custody battles in legal history were actually speaking to each other again, exchanging pictures and hugs.

The switch came to light after Rebecca's parents were killed in a car crash last year.. an earlier agreement to share custody fell apart, and the two sides ended up in court.

(( Jim Hall/CHAIRMAN, NTSB, paraphrased, both left and right engines were cutoff. With the flight data recorder revealing no obvious signs of mechanical trouble with EgyptAir flight 990 the spotlight has been turned on the criminal side of this investigation.
With the plane's voice recorder still missing, no one knows what went on inside the cockpit. So the FBI is focusing more on who was in it. JAMES KALLSTROM/FBI: SOMEBODY APPARENTLY WE DON'T KNOW FOR SURE BUT APPARENTLY PUT THIS PLANE INTO A DEEP DIVE SWITCHED OFF THE AUTO PILOT AND PUT IT INTO A DEEP DIVE AND DID NOT CALL AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL THIS IS VERY VERY UNUSUAL AND IT SOUNDS VERY VERY STRANGE. The Boston Herald is reporting that at least one EgyptAir crew member had reason to believe the plane was in danger and other members of the crew were behaving strangely right before the plane took off.
But investigating the crew, as well as the passengers has been a part of the criminal investigation from the beginning. So far, the FBI says it has come up empty handed.
With fears the crash may have had little if anything to do with the Boeing 767 itself, finding the cockpit voice recorder is all the more crucial.
But there are problems.

The USS Grapple began its 8- hour voyage back to the crash site this morning but wouldn't get the Navy s underwater robot into the water until late in the day.
Meanwhile, its counterpart, the civilian operated Magnum ROV spent most of the day on the deck of the Carolyn Chouest, having an electrical problem repaired instead of digging through underwater wreckage.))
