With the revelation from the flight data recorder that EgyptAir flight 990 appeared to be under control as it plunged into the ocean, understanding what was going on in the cockpit is now more important than ever.
With no sign of structural problems, or mechanical failure, investigators need to know what the pilots were talking about and why no distress signal ever went out from the cockpit as the plane dropped some 16-thousand feet in a matter of seconds.
The voice recorder now holds perhaps the only answer of whether a criminal act may have brought the plane down something right now, the FBI has no evidence to support. COWAN ON CAM CLOSE LEE COWAN/CBS NEWS))
