The Navys remote-operated Deep Drone robot retrieved the box from the ocean floor late Saturday night. Its exterior was damaged. But the recorder itself is in good shape-providing 31 minutes of information.
(nats-Andrews AFB/Sunday)

The box was flown to Washington yesterday where NTSB engineers began reviewing the audio. Of particular concernthe reason for the planes steep dive from its cruising altitude of 33-thousand feet. Based on information from the flight data recorderinvestigators know the 767s autopilot had been switched off. Both engines were shut off near the bottom of the dive before the plane crashed into the Atlantic.
(sot, Kallstrom, Theyre really going to have to have the audio and data tape and sync it together and enhance the audio

and look for those little fine noises and those little fine differences)))
