A tractor-trailer driver faces reckless driving charges tonight...

after state police say he was changing lanes on 581 Southbound when he forced a car into a guardrail.
Police then say William Lee Pickeral (PICK-er-ull) of Goodview overcompensated, sending his rig careening across the Northbound lanes and over an embankment, just South of the Valley View exit.
The three occupants of the car were all taken to the hospital - they've been treated and released.
Traffic was backed up for nearly two hours, but everything is back to normal now.

Two people died on Virginia roadways today.
One fatal accident happened on Interstate 66 near Haymarket, the other on Interstate 95 in Hanover County.

Three students and their bus driver remain hospitalized tonight following an accident this morning in Bedford County.

The driver, Ferris Booth, apparently blacked out at the wheel. He'll face a charge of reckless driving.

The attendants protested in front of a terminal at the Raleigh-Durham Airport.
Thousands of U-S Airways flight attendants are threatening to walk off the job near Christmas-time if contract negotiations with the company don't go their way.

A United jet racing toward takeoff had to lift off earlier than expected to avoid colliding with an Aero-mexico jet that was turning right into its path.
The FAA says the crew of the Aero-mexico flight twice failed to obey instructions to stop short of the runway.

It's been two years since a Thanksgiving Day fire in Danville- Now attorneys for 122 tenants who lost everything say they expect to withdraw their lawsuit next month.

122 of them signed on to sue the management company and owner's association for 12-million dollars.

The Egypt Air investigation takes a bizarre turn today- A senior Egyptian transportation official publicly proclaimed the jetliner was brought down by an in-flight explosion.

((The official claimed the battered condition of the plane's black boxes was proof that the tail of the Boeing 767....where the boxes were located...suffered some type of blast. US investigators privately dismissed the explosion theory as nonsense. Publicly, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright was more diplomatic. MADELEINE ALBRIGHT, SECRETARY OF STATE: We are working very closely with the Egyptians and will obviously continue to do so, and I think... speculation in this case does not help at all. In fact, data from the plane's black boxes virtually rules out a bomb...or any type of in flight explosion. Instead, all of the evidence...to date...supports the suspicion that EgyptAir flight 990 was deliberately taken down by co-pilot Gamil al-Batouti. O'Cain says Chancellor Marye Anne Fox arrived at his front door at 7-thirty yesterday morning and told him he had been fired.
In seven years O'Cain led N.C. State to a 41 and 40 record. He did manage to upset Florida State last season.
State never beat arch rival North Carolina in O'Cain's tenure. But the final straw may have been last weeks lost to East Carolina.

For 73 years the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade has marked the beginning of the holiday season.
Tonight people gathered to watch crews fill the giant balloons that will hover over the streets of New York City for tomorrow's parade.
Some old favorites - like Garfield and Bullwinkle - were filled tonight. But this year's highlight is expected to be the Peanuts character, Snoopy.
