It was the annual pep rally at Texas A-and-M.
Instead of the roaring bonfire that typically lights up this event, countless candles were held against the night sky.
Last week a 40-foot pile of logs that would have fueled the bonfire collapsed, killing 12 and injuring 27 more.
The school is facing it's arch rival, the University of Texas right now in a contest that spans over 100 years.
The bonfire tradition goes back 90 years and was initially started as a way to fire up pride and excitement before the big game.
