The men became trapped while trying to put out a blaze at an abandoned warehouse, last night.
The warehouse continued to smolder today-- as family and friends of the six dropped off flowers at the site.
This afternoon-- two firefighters and a structural engineer went into the building for the first time since the firefighters were lost.
Across the state, flags have been lowered to half-staff.

Police in New Mexico are calling on border patrol agents to help identify 13- Mexican nationals who died after their van crashed into a tractor trailer.

It's tentatively believed the men were being transported from Arizona to Florida as agricultural workers.
The 13 men were killed when the van they were in plowed into the rear of a tractor-trailer on an icy interstate.

About 200 people have been demonstrating outside the King County Jail, calling for the release of arrested protesters who are still being held.
A jail spokesman says about 300- of the more than 500 people arrested on misdemeanor charges have been released or cleared for release, so far.
Meantime, officials in Seattle are trying to get shoppers to return to the downtown area.

Roanoke City Police are searching for a man who robbed the Getty Mart on Orange Avenue at gun point shortly after 9 tonight. Police say the man is described as a light skinned black man. He was carrying a 45 caliber handgun, wearing a gray ski mask and a blue bandana when he robbed the convenience store.
He then took off in a dark blue Toyota Tercel. No word on how much money was taken.

Roanoke City police are also searching for a man who robbed and shot 39 year old Chester Wright of Salem last night.
It happened on the 2500 block of Delta Drive in Roanoke.
Apparently an armed man approached Wright and demanded money.
Police say the two struggled and Wright tried to run-- but was shot in the back.
He's currently listed in stable condition.

Roanoke City Police were out until the wee of hours of the morning -- catching drunk drivers and anyone else disobeying the rules of the road.

The crack- down started around 10-30 last night on tenth street.
Of the 500 vehicles that crossed the bridge -- 70 were detained.
Three drivers were arrested for D-U-I.
Two tickets were also issued for habitual offenders.
Other tickets were handed out for seat belt violations and others for suspended licenses.

By March first of next year, Northern Virginia will have another area code.
The seven-oh three area code is going to be combined with-- five seven one.
And-- officials are predicting that the state's other three area codes will be full by two-thousand two.
To alleviate the problem, the State Corporation Commission wants to require phone companies to return unused numbers into a pool for reassignment.
The change would have to be approved by the F-C-C.
