Jack Esworthy and the rest of his staff have worked for three years to raise the money for this trip.
The seed money comes from the proceeds from an annual June basketball camp and the summer league.

a few racing notes. This past Monday in Stewart, Winston Cup driver Morgan Shepherd presented a check for 30 thousand dollars to the PARC, a private non-profit sheltered workshop for handicapped citizens. The money will help pay off the debt on the building where the organization is housed.

finally, check out Dale Earnhardt Junior on your left. He was part of the first annual Race Fan Beach Bash in Jamaica. Race fans who attended were able to enjoy fun in the sun with Earnhardt Junior and other Busch Series drivers.
Benny Parsons conducted his radio show from the beach.
Earnhardt even mingled with fans after hours,
and fans had a chance to prove their metal on tire changing as well.

Harold's Club stood for 64 years in downtown Reno, but when nearby Harrah's bought it in June, its days were numbered.
Those days came to an end with this implosion. You may not notice any trouble, but the demolition triggered a gas leak, which forced the evacuation of that nearby Harrah's in the middle of the night.
Everyone was allowed back in three and a half hours later.
