A woman ran a red light and hit a school bus at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Gainsboro Road this afternoon around 2:00.

Police say the driver of the car is diabetic and suffered a low blood sugar blackout causing the accident.
Police have not released the driver's name.
One child was on the Roanoke City School bus coming from Lincoln Terrace Elementary school.
The student was not injured.
The driver was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Charges are pending further investigation.

But doctors are testing a device that uses electricity to alleviate its symptoms.
