Good evening, I'm Teresa Hamilton.
Conditions are said to be
deteriorating aboard the hijacked Indian Airlines jet that's sitting on the ground in southern Afghanistan.
At least 160 people are still aboard the plane and those who delivered food to the captive passengers today say the air in the plane is bad.
The hijackers want India to release a Pakistani prisoner who Indian authorities say is a terrorist.
Today India's Foreign Minister gave family who have loved ones aboard the jet little more than a promise to ease conditions aboard the plane.

The world is a little quieter today as one of America's
most distinctive and soulful voices fell silent.
Composer and singer Curtis Mayfield died at a Georgia hospital at age 57.
Mayfield may be best known for the success of the soundtrack to the
film "Superfly" in 1972.
He also had a string of hits in the '60s.
In 1990 Mayfield was paralyzed in an accident in which he was struck
by a rig that toppled while he was on stage performing in Brooklyn.
No word yet on the cause of death.
At least five people are dead after a fierce storm swept across northern France.
105 mile an hour winds tore off roofs, cut electricity lines, and ripped down chimneys.
