Negotiators are spending their New year's Eve talking by phone with two women .. who are holding hostages inside a bank. They've released one .. but are still holding the others.

The women took four to six hostages in a Bank of America branch near Kansas City ... all of them are bank employees.
Traffic near the bank has been shut down as police cordoned off the area.

A high speed motorcycle chase down route 460 in Montvale --has landed a Roanoke man in jail.

Authorities say 27-year old Alexir Henriga Hairston refused to stop when a deputy tried to pull him over for speeding.
He allegedly led authorities on a 15- mile long chase on 460 at speeds up to 120 miles an hour.
Hairston eventually turned off on Fluff Road where he crashed his bike.
Hairston did not suffer any injuries.
He faces charges for reckless driving and attempting to elude authorities.

Others said they were blindfolded.

Roanoke City Council voted down a proposal this morning for a pay increase in the year 2-thousand.

But the ordinance failed -- getting four of the five votes needed to pass.

Trailing 7 to nothing, Joey Harrington runs the option keeps the ball and scores on the 5 yard run to tie it at 7 to 7.
Oregon led 17 to 13 in the fourth then Billy Cockerham throws the 7 yard touchdown pass to Ron Johnson to make the
score 20 to 17 Minnesota.

Then with just over a minute left in the game Joey Harrington hots Keenan on the 10 yard T-D pass and Oregon wins it 24 to 20.
