Ten years ago I bought from Mr. Bacher's Glencullen Garden a rhododendron fargesii (Fig 8). It bloomed once or twice, and then always formed buds every year, but they always fell off. Last November 1955 the freeze hit it and damaged many other plants, but this R. fargesii broke out in a mass of pretty pink bloom in the spring.
