QBARS - v13n1 Cover

Cover

During the month of January, winter seems permanently and almost forever established in the garden. Last seasons bloom as shown on the cover is an almost distant memory. Yet if a normal season is forthcoming some of the early species, and hybrids will be in bloom in six weeks or less, and the delightful scene will again be recreated. The most optimistic gardener will be counting on an earlier than normal season, but welcome as it would be, it had best not be counted upon. A garden in full bloom after a long season of waiting is shown on the cover of the January Bulletin, and in areas of our country as the Pacific Northwest, and the East coast where winter really takes a hand none can but anticipate the beginning of another season.
