Inheritance Of Indumentum
David Leach, moderator of the "Rhododendron Round Table" at the Annual Meeting, had his own contribution on the subject of inheritance of indumentum on rhododendron leaves. It was summed up in a slide as follows:
(Catawbiense var. album x yakushimanum) x yakushimanum = (non-indumented x indumented) x indumented
non-indumented indumented Actual: 98 seedlings total 72 non-indumented 26 indumented Conclusion: indumentum is controlled by two genes, non-indumented being dominant.
