Birmingham Chapter Show
The third annual rhododendron and azalea show, "Arts and Flowers," sponsored by the Birmingham Chapter was held April 27 and 28 at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.
A special feature of the show was the rhododendron seedling sale. Self pollinated hybrid seedlings were grown at the gardens and sold at the show for $1.00 and $1.50. Several hundreds were sold, each with complete planting and care instructions. Members of the Society were on hand to answer questions and encourage planting of rhododendrons. The show had artistic and horticultural divisions, each judged by nationally accredited judges. Mrs. Clara Curry held a special educational display. "The Growth and Culture of Rhododendrons."
