Endangered and Threatened Rhododendron Species

        The following rhododendron species native to the United States appear on the Federal Register put out by the Department of the Interior. The Federal Register contains the same plant list that will be used in the revised edition of the Smithsonian Report. These rhododendrons are considered endangered or threatened species.

Alabama Georgia
   R. austrinum - threatened    R. austrinum - threatened
   R. prunifolium - threatened    R. prunifolium - threatened
Florida Kentucky
   R. chapmanii - endangered    R. bakeri - threatened
   R. prunifolium - threatened North Carolina
Virginia    R. vaseyi - threatened
   R. bakeri - threatened
