Tualatin Valley Chapter 1976 Bronze Medal
Members of the Tualatin Valley Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society, at their annual dinner meeting May 11, 1976 at Pacific University, awarded the Society's bronze medal to Thomas McGuire of Portland. Selected for the honor' because of his many years of service to the chapter, McGuire has served, at various times, as a club officer, meeting speaker, plant auctioneer, show judge, plant identifier and propagation demonstrator. He has contributed many plants to chapter projects and activities. As a successful hybridizer, he has introduced a new rhododendron which he has named 'Betsy Balcomb.'
