National Flower Show

The Cut Truss Show was held at the American Baptist Center in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, on Saturday and Sunday, May 22 and May 23, 1976, in conjunction with the 1976 ARS National Convention.
Entries totaled 529 with trusses and sprays entered from California, Oregon, Washington, Virginia, Massachusetts, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Six silver bowls were awarded. Dr. and Mrs. G. David Lewis of Colts Neck, New Jersey, won Best Deciduous Azalea with 'Davisiesii' and Best Evergreen Azalea with 'Lorna'. The silver bowl for Best Species was awarded to R. trichostomum var. ledoides grown and exhibited by Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Badger of Woodinville, Washington.
Prizes for Best Hybrid Rhododendron, Best New Hybrid and Best in Show were awarded to a purple new hybrid shown by Mrs. Halsey A. Frederick of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
