At its annual truss show on May 27, 1979, the Massachusetts Chapter awarded the Bronze Medal to Dr. Max Resnick, with the following citation: "Under your able leadership as director and president of the Chapter during its formative years, our numbers doubled and our success as a viable entity was assured. As its first and perennial budget chairman, you have helped place the Chapter on a firm fiscal foundation. You have shared generously with other gardeners far and wide both plant material and your knowledge and love of the genus. As editor of The Rosebay, you have established a new standard of quality for Chapter publications in the Society. You have given unstintingly of your time and talents in countless other ways in the service of the Chapter. In grateful recognition of your contributions, the Chapter is honored to present you with its highest tribute, the Bronze Medal of the Society."
