Bronze Medal - Azalea Chapter
The Azalea Chapter of the A.R.S. presents the Bronze Medal, our highest award for service, to Shirley Harry for her dedication to growing, collecting, propagating, and spreading rhododendron, evergreen and deciduous azaleas. A member since the inception of the chapter in February 1968, Shirley has served as Secretary-Treasurer for two and a half years and then helped in revitalizing our chapter in 1975. There followed a period when she served as Secretary as well as newsletter editor until 1978. Supported by her husband, Wilson Harry, Shirley has been in the forefront of club activities, working in all flower show positions, including show chairman, book chairman, and has been unstintingly generous with her time and advice to all members.
