In recognition of his many contributions to this chapter, we honor Clifton A. Mashburn. As a member of long standing you gave support to the chapter during its struggling infancy, judged at its shows, represented it at national meetings, served as officer, and prepared a history of the chapter.
As an avid collector of Dexter rhododendrons, you have corresponded widely to search out the superior clones, have propagated and distributed plants from your collection, have motivated others to study and collect Dexter hybrids, and have been a prime mover in the founding of the Dexter Study Group.
You are a kind and gentle person, and we recognize as one of your greatest contributions the encouragement of others and the generous sharing of your superior plants.
